2000 World Bloggers
Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ January 25th, 2007 - 6:44 pmRecently, someone on the internet came up with this 2000 World Bloggers blog and it has attracted quite a lot of attention. Is this another attempt to rank the bloggers according to their popularity, content, age or whatsoever? The answer is no and I’m guessing it because this blog is in the list. Actually, I don’t know what’s up, but I just noticed that a lot of blogs started to link to this blog from a week ago and I was curious. Looking at it, all the bloggers simply linked to the various blogs with pictures of bloggers. My blog and picture happened to be one of them.
There are so many blogs in the blogosphere that the probability of my blog being listed in any list of 2000 is extremely low. My blog isn’t exactly super popular too, but if more people start linking to me in such lists, I might just become a popular blogger. Maybe still a poor one since this blog generated less than a dollar for this month, but who cares? At least I got a chance to become popular. 
I am just glad that my blog happened to be one of the listed blogs and believed I got some additional attention and links to this blog.
Upon further investigation, I realized that anyone can simply leave a comment at the originating blog to have their blogs listed. For my case, I’m puzzled as to why my blog was included in the list, since I didn’t leave any comments asking for my blog to be posted. Nevertheless, I’m enjoying being part of a list of 2000 bloggers.
Haha, what’s next? Anyone wants to come up with another list? Perhaps something along the lines of ‘Hundred Best Bloggers’ or even something like ’My Top Ten Favorite Bloggers’. If you do, maybe you would like to consider adding this blog in your list too. I’m a self-confessed exhibitionist and do not mind more attention. So, if you have such a list, don’t link to bloggers who might not appreciate your links… link to my blog. I leave so many smiles all throughout my blog too and will surely liven up the whole Internet. You’ll practically be doing a community service simply by linking to this blog!

Think American Idol meets Survivor with The Apprentice. Who gets voted off the island? Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down? Hired or fired? Do you Digg it? Use reality tv groundrules, and VOTE!

Hotel @nyware is paying the 2000 bloggers off in social currency. This is an open source call out there to vet out the 2000 to Hotel @nyware’s new Z list of 150.

Now that is strange? Cos the only way, according to the rules, for you to be on the list is to ask to be on the list.

I have a feeling this is a popular gimick Tino came up with because it is free and numerous links for many bloggers, and bloggers love links because they translate into visitors and commenters. If an effort is made to link based on popularity, the vast number of bloggers would wouldn’t normally be included like you and I, would have missed out on the first wave of it, and we wouldn’t be talking about it at all.
