FM exam ends… Drinking Session

Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ November 24th, 2006 - 3:18 am

Slept at 4+ and woke up at 6+ with a morning call from Christine (thanks so much), but surprisingly, I was amazingly refreshed and looking forward to the day. I have never slept so little, yet felt so good that I can almost batter three lions to death with my bare fists. Maybe it’s the over-enthusiasm to score another A or just sleeping too little made me barely sane. Oh yes, before I forget, thanks zonghao and lihui for agreeing to morning call me as well, but I’m glad I didn’t need it, otherwise I’ll be late for exam :)

Something made me damn happy during the exam: I can see the clock! For the previous exam in the same hall, the pillar was so strategically in front of me that it precisely blocked the line of sight between the clock and my seat. How ironic can it be… just 2 seats made such a big difference. Anyway, the clock really saved my life, because I have a tendency to do exams slowly until there is not much time left then I’ll rush through the paper. So, as usual, I was snailing through the MCQs. When I finished, I realized I have only one hour left to finish the rest of the paper, not like the past year papers where there was 2 and a half hours given. My first reaction was ‘what the hell’ and I sped through the questions like I can literally read and write at 1,000,000 words per minute. If you’re any older than three year old, you should know that this’s just an exaggeration, so don’t ask me for any secrets on speed reading/writing. Anyway, I finished the paper on the spot, so I didn’t have time to check, just hope I’m not careless… but I am usually.

I did my part, the exam is over, so just heck care already, but I noticed I didn’t follow the instructions for the scantron sheet. It told me not to write my name and seminar group, but I did exactly what it told me not to. :) It proves my point once again that I don’t bother to read instructions, maybe because I’m freaking 22 years old and don’t need people telling me what to do, haha. It’s partly their fault also, cause if they don’t want us to give those information, then maybe they should update the scantron sheet? There are always cocksters like me who don’t bother to read instructions, since we’re instructed not to flip over the paper until the whistle’s blown. I barely have enough time to finish the paper, so it’s understandable that I don’t read the instructions, right? Guess it’s just another excuse for my stupid mistake. :)

After exams, I took out the sandwich that my mom made for me in the morning. The sandwich was made hours ago, but my Mother’s love warm it up for me magically and I munched on it as though it’s a new local delicacy. That was my breakfast and lunch, which filled up less than a quarter of my stomach, but love filled up the rest. Just think about how wonderful can my Mother be, woke up at 6+ and still bothered to fry egg for her 22-year old son. For the benefit of those who don’t know yet, my mom’s an incredibly amazing lady, bringing up three kids single-handedly for the past 16 years. Because of her, I’ll never be a self-made millionaire, because it was her hard work that made me who I am today.

Back to where I was, feasting away on the sandwich at Quad with Zonghao, Kelvin, Daryl, Kian Yip, Li Hui, Kai Leng and Wenling… I thought they were going to catch a movie, but it seems like they have reached a mutual consensus that everyone’s going back to their halls/homes. So… I just wandered home and eagerly waited for tonight’s drinking session although it was just me and Zonghao. Time flew past in an instance and soon I was Raffles Place MRT station with zonghao at 9 o’clock and we headed to Christine’s workplace, Fabulous. Good things are usually hard to get, so we had to get ourselves lost for half an hour before we finally found the place. This was done on purpose, it’s required for us to enjoy the place more after we finally get there.

We settled down quickly once we reached and had a slow game of pool. Once we were done with the game, Christine whacked out a bottle of Vodka and that sets my drink for the day… Vodka Cranberry. Got to say thank you again: Thanks Christine for the bottle of Vodka that was reduced to almost thin air by the time we left. I like to drink for the sake of the stupid games that are even more childish than childhood games, so I wanted to play games with zonghao, but got rejected and my pride was slammed hard on the ground. Instead, zonghao came up with a ‘tell-the-truth-or-drink’ game. I was honestly afraid he’ll ask some possible questions, but I decided to play along with him anyway. In the end, I was glad he didn’t ask any of the questions I have thought of within my head. After that, we just sang a few songs and soon the day ended. This marks the end of the first drinking session with zonghao and I didn’t drink much that day, since it’s just our prelude. Maybe we’ll be going somewhere else with Daryl this coming Monday for our next drinking session, who knows? I’m meeting friends from AMD this coming Friday and I wonder if we will go drinking also. One thing is for sure though: I’m not going to get drunk.
