Agloco’s Viewbar Launch

In February, I blogged about Agloco, a revenue sharing ‘get paid to surf’ network. I was pretty interested in their idea at that time and published this post “Agloco Might Help Us Make Money“. Now… few months down the road, their viewbar is finally launched. Without hesitation, I downloaded the viewbar and installed it. However, I was really disappointed for a few reasons.

1. Their ad servers were not ready when they launched the viewbar. Even after the ad servers are up, the ads shown in the viewbar aren’t very personalized, which means probably less clicks and less revenue. Ultimately, it means that we may not get rewarded well.
2. The viewbar docks at the top or bottom, but out of the browser. I expected the position to be around our address bar (the one that you use to type in URLs). I mean who would click on a Google search box outside their browser to search. I would guess that taking the position just below the address bar would have more people searching Google using the viewbar, which means more revenue.
3. I also think that they do not communicate well with members. They do not have any email follow-ups or something to get people consistently involved with using the viewbar. This translates to the possibility that members who signed up may just forget about Agloco altogether.
4. They do not allow upline to communicate with their downline in any way. If they had a good system in place, this would not be a problem, but they don’t. Therefore, it’s quite a problem that we aren’t able to contact our downlines with our own systemized set of emails and get them to use the viewbar or promote Agloco actively.

Even with all these disappointments, I’m still trying out to see how it goes. Afterall, it is free and does not take up too much space on my desktop. I’m really interested to see if they will make adjustments that will improve revenues and help dish out higher payouts to members. Afterall, if they can gather such a large member base and program the viewbar software, it should not be that difficult for them to implement email follow-ups and tweak the viewbar further to improve response.

As of this moment, I have around 80 direct and indirect referrals, but I would guess that earnings for the first month of using the viewbar should not be significant. I look forward to seeing how they will change with time, but if they remain the way they are, I would say that they are just another joke. However, these are just my personal opinions.
