Asking For Professional Reviews

Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ June 3rd, 2007 - 3:40 pm

I’m pretty lost as to how I can further improve my blog. I know the colors seem a bit dull, but I tried changing colors and it just seems to look even worse each time. Being so lost, I decided to try to solicit for comments. The first thing I tried was to ask for comments by making a blog post, which proved not very effective and I was stuck at 0 ideas. The next move I did was to post my site for review on a forum. I had to review three other websites first before being able to post my site for review. Well… I reviewed four websites just to overdeliver a little.

After waiting for a day, my request for this blog to be reviewed in the forums has not gone through the moderation yet. Instead of just waiting around, I decided to ask for professional reviews from really great bloggers that I personally surf their blogs. I shot off just 4 emails to different bloggers, because I didn’t want to spam the entire blogosphere just to get my site reviewed. I hope that at least one blogger would respond and give me some constructive criticism to improve. In the mean time, I thought about my next step if I still don’t get any reviews. Personally, I think I will contact other bloggers that have personal websites, because some of them really have great designs on their blogs.

With all that said, some people may start to be puzzled about why I spend so much effort on this blog, when it doesn’t really make me much money. The last time I had Google Ads on the blog, my best month was still less than $4. Well… I treat this blog as the cockpit of my internet marketing efforts and without a nice cockpit, the journey just doesn’t seem enjoyable. Of course, the most important thing is to attract more visitors to this blog, so that they can constantly encourage me, alert me of my mistakes and walk this journey along with me. I used to make some money on the internet and it was because I had ICQ friends to chat with and that really made me move on. Without the personal touch, the Internet is a lonely place and difficult for most people to function in their right mind.

At this same moment that I am asking for reviews, I am also looking for people who might share the same passions in Internet Marketing. Please drop a comment anywhere on this blog and I will be glad to add you to MSN messenger or something. If you don’t want your comment to show, simply state so somewhere in your comment and I will delete it after reading.

May the reviews and contacts start pouring in. :)

Yeah, I’m using this blog for personal branding (which explains the photo on the header) and to archive my internet marketing journey. Anyway, the theme you recommended is pretty neat, but I prefer to use my own design for this blog because I feel quite personally for this blog. I have spent quite a bit of work on the designing, although it isn’t absolutely fantastic but I’m pretty much satisfied. I don’t want to get stuck trying to get my blog to become perfect, since I will be moving on to other activities that have higher potential to make money from. This blog can’t get me anywhere near my goal, haha. :)

    Hi Hang Wei,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m really rooting for you. I hope you achieve more than what you ever dreamed possible ;-D

I think your website looks good. Very professional. I have one concern. Are you making money with Google Ads? If not, take them out. Instead try using affiliate marketing. Try promoting other people’s products.

I have a great product that is selling well at Gratitudebliss.com I have one affiliate that has made over 40 sales in the last 3 days.

For details on the free affiliate program go to gratitudebliss.com/affiliates

If you have questions, just ask.

Thank you for your comment. I am not really working on this blog at the moment, other than routine posting. In terms of the layout and advertisements, I do not think I will be spending time to tweak them. I do agree with you that affiliate marketing might reap higher profits though.
