Bringing This Blog To The Next Level

I noticed that quite a lot of my friends read my blog, although they do not leave any comments behind. Nowadays, I find myself telling my friends some stuff that I blogged about and they just simply said “Yeah I know, I read your blog.” It happened on many different friends, so I can safely conclude that my blog is being read by them. Apart from my friends, the number of visitors to this blog is also increasing gradually, albeit at a slow pace. I think that there might be a chance for the number of unique visitors to this blog for this month to fly past the 1,000 mark.

With the increasing readership, my blog needs to be improved constantly. Therefore, I have taken some time to browse around this blog and see if there are any features I can add to enhance the browsing experience. The first change is adding page numbers at the bottom, even for categories and monthly archives. The second improvement I made was by adding the next and previous posts link after any full post page. With that, visitors need not go back and click on another post to continue reading the next page, thereby adding increased convenience. Changes I made a long time ago include not showing the full post until you click on the post title or click on “Read the rest of this entry”. I believe that this helps to keep everything as clean as possible so that it’s easier to identify topics of your interest.

With that said, all these so-called improvements are what I would have preferred. I have not gotten any comments or feedback regarding these changes, so perhaps some of you can drop a comment or two to let me know what you think. If you have been browsing this blog for a long time, you might have been through the transition period and noticed a major difference. Regardless of whether you think it adds to a more positive or negative experience, I hope to get your ideas. They are really important and can determine the future direction of this blog.

Finally, I would just like to thank you for visiting my blog. Without you around to read my blog, it will just go into obsolescence with time. It’s only through your constant visits and occasional comments that make having this blog worthwhile. I hope that everyone of you will remain as my faithful reader in the years ahead, looking at how I progress in my life and my blogging journey. I might not know most of you in real life, but I believe that people can be bonded even without physical proximity and I sure hope to create as many strong bonds through this blog as possible.
