Computer Hijacked By Adware

Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ July 10th, 2007 - 11:49 pm

This post is going to be short. I just felt that adware, spyware and keyloggers are very intrusive, since my computer was recently hit. Unfortunately, I did a full scan with 6 different software and it still went undetected. To make matters worse, the ads are mostly showing erm… ‘You know what’. Someone help me please…

do a system restore. it will help you definitely. i always do this while i was being infected surfing por* sites. :)

I wanted to do that, but all my restore points were deleted. Nothing seems to be able to detect this spyware. I think that those antivirus companies need to work harder.

This is a nasty one. Sounds like Virtumondo. Had a clash with this one awhile back. Go to wikipedia and type in VundoFix. There you can get a link to download a program called (creatively enough) Vundofix. Run it, have it remove the files it detects, and let it reboot your computer. Then run it again. Delete anything you find. If you’re paranoid you can do this a third time, but you shouldn’t need to.

It’s sad, but this does not appear to be able to solve the problem. The only antivirus that had scanned something is Trend Micro, but when I opted to remove it, it somehow seems to get stuck there. No idea what’s the problem.
