First Exam in University
Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ November 15th, 2006 - 11:45 pmI had my first examination in University today, two modules in a day, ”Information Technology” and “Internet Fundamentals”. Ironically, I spent more time studying for my elective than for my core module and there are a couple of good reasons.
- IT’s past year’s exam paper asks questions that you can’t really study.
- I don’t have enough time to study both, since I only studied on Monday afternoon and Tuesday night. (I know this is an excuse, you don’t have to tell me)
Before the examinations, I was not really sure whether it was a right choice to ditch studying for IT and focus on my elective. However, now that I have completed both papers, I’m pretty sure that I made the right choice. :)
Anyway, the two papers are over, so I’ll be forward-looking and dscuss my thoughts on the subsequent papers. Accounting, Financial Management and Business Law… I think I can pass all the papers already, so with my personality, I won’t bother to study for it. However, it’s fortunate that I have two friends who asked me to study Accounting and Financial Management with them and I’ll probably learn from these sessions. Other friends did not ask for study session, but threw questions at me on MSN and it helps to stimulate my thinking as well. Just wanted to let all my friends know that as much as you think that I’m helping you, I think that you’re helping me also.
My favorite pre-exam phrase “Let’s score As together!”
My favorite post-exam phrase “I’m assuming I get an A until the results are back”
P.S: Whether you think positively or negatively, it doesn’t cost you anything. If that’s the case, why not think more positively which is definitely more empowering? Positive Thoughts + Positive Actions = Positive Results
I wish all my friends the best of luck in the Examinations!
P.P.S: Although I wished you luck, don’t depend too much on luck, ok? Spend some time studying and enjoy the rewards of your efforts after the exams. If you can’t study alone, remember that there’s always ME.

Yah, really “few” days, Monday afternoon and Tuesday night. Is your comment supposed to be sarcastic or you really think that few hours is a lot of effort?

Hmm, isn’t being pessimistic a better post- exam way of thinking? I mean, we can give ourselves a pleasant surprise if we really do get As… And if we really do get Bs or sth worse, we wouldn’t feel that depressed, cause our pessimistic mindset has made us stronger towards negative results instead……
Haha… dat’s just my weird way of thinking, coming from a very pessismic person…
Anyway, lets all go drink ourselves silly after exams…. I can’t wait!!!…….
