Google Adsense Implementation

Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ July 17th, 2008 - 9:50 pm

I am implementing another google ad unit on this blog and the position of this ad unit may be changed as I track how’s the response of the ad unit. Basically, this blog is going to serve as my test platform on how ad units perform in certain positions and how to improve response rate. This will be really helpful since I intend to become a real expert in the web arena and for any website, knowing how to improve response rates is an important key.

Besides implementing an additional ad unit, I have to spare time to catch up on my blogging, since my monthly post count seems to be too little. The reason for my need to blog more often is to ensure that I keep myself intellectually challenged, by constantly having topics to blog about. If I run out of topics, it probably mean that I’m not proactive enough in my life and I need to step out of my box even more. The other goal for blogging more often is to improve my standard of english constantly.

If I intend to blog more often, I also have to think faster because I can’t afford to spend too much time thinking of what to write and editing each post. This may be beneficial since being able to think on my feet is an important skill, especially when we are involved in conversations or presentations. Anyway, due to time limitations, I will probably not be editting some of my posts from time to time, but the general idea of each of my post will still be there.

Blogging more often may also likely help to build up this blog’s traffic over time and testing of google ad unit positioning and styling at this stage will be beneficial. Who knows… this blog may help me generate some decent revenue in the near future, even if it does not generate enough revenue to cover a meagre $4 monthly hosting charge right now.

With that said, I can’t reveal the exact statistics of how my testing went, since I believe it is against Google regulations. However, I will be able to blog about the general idea of what works and what don’t. Hopefully, the results of my testing will not just be useful for myself, but also to people who read my blog. For now, that’s all for this post, stay tuned to my blog. :)
