I Passed My Statistics Quiz
Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ April 12th, 2007 - 4:52 pmYesterday, I blogged and said that I failed my first quiz since my polytechnic days, but I was wrong. I managed to just pass my quiz and I’m incredibly happy. Although I scored?way lower than the class average, I was indeed quite happy that I didn’t perform as badly as I thought I would. This brought me back confidence for this coming examinations and I believe I still have a chance to get A for the module, provided I work extremely hard to make up for the bad coursework grades. I foresee that I will be spending?70% of?the time that I allocate for studying on?Statistics alone, 20% on economics, 5% on Organisational Behaviour and 5% for Marketing.
It’s not gonna be easy to rise from the depths of a well back to the surface, but I believe there is still a chance. If I just spend three days focusing on statistics, I’m sure I will make up for lost time and become proficient at the module. My worst enemy so far is still myself, being lazy and unfocused when it comes to studying. There are so many times that I have fallen asleep while trying to read textbooks that I sleep for?4 hours after just studying for half an hour. Besides sleeping, I have been spending a lot of my time on hobbies like anime, manga and games.
Well… I just completed a full series of anime and completing the second series soon and god knows how many tens of hours did that burn. I know that during this period when I’m going to be taking examinations, time is precious and I should be studying. However, it makes no sense to?spend time?studying when I can’t study optimally, so I?am satisfying?all?my wants?by this week. I went out with my friends, read manga, watched movies, completed series of anime and completed civilization IV. After completing the last ten plus episodes of an anime series, I?will be ready to start studying.
I’m making a commitment to myself that the latest date for me to start studying would be this saturday. I’m not going to be complacent like last semester, where I can still score reasonably well without spending too much time. Firstly, I wasn’t working 40 hours a week last semester and secondly,?many of my coursemates?do have more experience with Statistics and Economics. Many of them are even exempted from economics so they have more time to study for other subjects and judging by the diligence of my coursemates, they will. It’s going to be tough to do well this semester, but if it isn’t tough, it won’t be satisfying.
I may have done badly for one of my quizzes and got quite demoralized the past week, but I will still put up a strong fight. I challenge myself to overcome the overwhelming odds and still score As in this semester. May God bless me.

Told you you’d pass! The road is long and bumpy and all it takes is 1-2 huge winning trades to offset the small losing ones. I think you understand my analogy. Haha!
