Making Tough Decisions
Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ June 8th, 2009 - 1:08 amThis is a period of time that I feel quite lost since this is the first and only time in my life that I am about to step into the labor force. To be honest, it has been very difficult to make my decisions, because interest and money are two major factors that seem to not come together for me so far. To a certain extent, I should have been glad that I even have a job offer, since there are plenty of unemployed fresh graduates even at this moment.
However, I just keep silently praying that I can get the best of both worlds with a job that is along my interest and still offers me a high pay. In the meantime, I am still quite unsettled on what to accept, so I am working on a flexi-basis and going for interviews until I make up my mind. For all I know, I may even end up working for my current boss full-time, but I don’t think it is likely since I am not convinced when it comes to the long-term career prospects.
Haiz, I am seriously quite lost at the moment and I am also afraid of stepping into full-time entrepreneurship since I took into account many other factors such as potential bonuses if I work for big companies. Beating that income may not be that easy as a single-person internet marketer, although it is a possibility in the long-run. Therefore, I think it is still a better choice to work full-time and work on my websites part-time until my income from websites exceed full-time employment. Of course, I may still stay in full-time employment even if my income from websites get higher since I quite enjoy working in a company setting with all the colleagues around, but those decisions will not come so soon.
I think my current decisions are so important that they may mold my entire life from now on. Therefore, this is probably the first time that I am so eagerly seeking advice from people that are successful in life, such as my supervisor in OCBC and people who are making five figures a month in their late 20s and early 30s. I hope that ultimately, I will make solid decisions that will bring me to making high income and most importantly, enjoy the entire process of doing so.

I wonder if this “riches from Internet Marketing” is actually for real or a pipe dream paddled by people who sell courses. How does it work anyway?
With so many people diluting the earnings by starting websites how is one going to make money?
I’ve a pretty well visited socio-political site. Once I tried putting adsense on it and it generated something like $4 for me for that month. I took the adsense down because I thought it wouldn’t be right to try to monetize my site - the income was pathetic anyway.

The Internet Marketing is basically selling “make money online” information to newbies interested in this area, of course like network marketing, need to hype up returns.
Whether the particular method works depend on how many people are doing the same thing.
Honestly speaking, if you are aware of a niche product, purchased from some places that got some demand that result in 5 figures profit when selling on ebay, would you tell the whole world for even a $1500 3 days course where to get them so that the next day you see 1000 people doing the same things.
Remember that demand for a certain products and services are not infinite.
But one don’t have to make money online by selling and doing things about make money online as what this website says here,

In fact, got one Singaporean blogger who is a doctor by profession makes 5 figures per month from one blog that is not about and selling information products on “make money online and Internet Marketing.”

Google Adsense is well known for earning little money even for a high traffic blog.
That is why most high traffic blog directly sells space to advertisers like JohnChow.com and motor mouth xiaxue.
