Merry Christmas To Everyone

Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ December 24th, 2007 - 8:39 am

A Merry Christmas to Everyone! It’s that time of the year again, a time where we see the big red fat guy. Honestly, Santa looks like a real kidnapper, with his big bag and moustache covering his entire face. Perhaps that was how Santa originated when he was on his rounds to kidnap children and got caught. In a moment of desperation, he claims to be giving out gifts on Christmas day to young children. Somehow, people in the past were not as educated and got tricked into believing that was true and Santa was born. Hohoho, of course, I’m just talking nonsense here, so don’t go ahead and wiki it to find out if it’s true… it isn’t.

With that aside, the purpose of this post is simple… just to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. However, at the same time, maybe everyone reading this blog can help to spread the festive joy around with random little acts of kindness. To be kind, we need not have to give away an arm or leg.

  • It need not be only monetary kindness.
  • It need not be only to our loved ones.
  • It need not be something we do everyday.

It just needs a little effort on your part. Afterall, I’m sure that just giving up a seat to someone who needs it more is already a kind act by itself. Well… I have to admit that I do not give up my seats all the time when I take the train.

  • 50% of the time, I don’t get a seat in the first place.
  • 25% of the time, I get a seat but there are plenty of seats available.
  • 15% of the time, I am sleeping on the train and oblivious to everything around me.
  • 10% of the time, I just stand up and give up my seat.

Seriously speaking, I don’t know why I am always shy to give up my seat to the people I want to give to. When I want to give up my seat, I just stand up, but don’t reach out to the person I intend to give the seat to. Most of the time, it goes well with the person needing it most getting the seat. However, there are some incidents where people literally snatched the seat away from the person who needs it most.

Anyway, with all that aside, my only point is just for everyone to start with a random act of kindness. Oh yeah, for those who invest… I hope you get splendid gifts from the Market. :) With that said, I’m already back in the Market with Mutual Funds again. I find it quite stupid for me to sell and buy back my funds within a few days, with the hefty sales charge. The most important thing is that I got in at a better price that I got out at and it’s all that matters.

Let’s look forward to a fruitful and successful year after Christmas. Meanwhile, enjoy your Christmas Day.
