Outing to Kbox With Wife’s Family
Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ December 31st, 2006 - 6:29 pmWarning! I’m writing this post with feeble hands and probably my mind won’t be thinking right. Pardon me for any grammar, spelling or any other form of mistakes you manage to spot. There is also a pretty high chance of me not finishing this post due to hunger and lack of energy. If you manage to see this post, note that I have struggled to complete the post. Even though I’m struggling right now, I can’t forget my trademark smile.
There, it just gave me more energy and brought more joy to my readers. Now, let me go on with my long story…
It all started with a simple outing to Kbox with all my wife’s family members and me. The day started at ten when I woke up to brush my teeth and get ready. Although I only had five hours of sleep, I thought it’s alright since I’ll get it back when I return home. So, time past quickly and we were soon singing at the Kbox in Jurong East. It was extremely cold and I was shivering at a faster rate than atoms in a solid vibrating. Despite that, I still picked a few songs and sung along. Who knows… maybe the rapid chattering of my teeth will add to the music and produce a better melody.
Hours went by and our singing session ended. At this time, my wife asked if I wanted to go home with my father-in-law, while she is going shopping at IMM. My wife is expecting to shop for quite a lot of stuff today and I know that she couldn’t have turned from a physically weak lady to Hercules within a day. Therefore, even though I’m really tired and sleepy, I politely rejected the kind offer to enjoy a ride to a wonderful destination, Home.
With an hour of shopping, my wife never fails to perform up to expectations. In just that short span of time, she managed to buy quite a handful of stuff ranging from ring files to boxes of tissue. Shopping in IMM Giant entitles you to a trolley and it’s just so easy to dump things in without feeling any weight. I am definitely very sure that they increased their profits a few folds just by having a trolley instead of shopping baskets like before. After all, you begin to feel the weight after filling up that small shopping basket and you will stop shopping thereafter. With a trolley, you don’t feel a thing and sure enough, our trolley was soon quite packed.
She continued her shopping after coming out from giant and I still had the trolley with me. It feels so nice that my hands are free, but soon… her shopping spree ended. With 3 big bags of stuff, boxes of tissue and her original bag, I needed to carry 5 bags home. Loading the bags onto my hands, I can start to feel the weight. She was about to head somewhere else, so I got to carry everything back home myself. Well… even if she’s going home with me, I wouldn’t let her carry anything except her bag either. She asked me to take a cabby home and remarked that my hands were turning red. I insisted to take public transport home and told her that hands turning red is nothing. There are still the purple and black stages.
So, we walked from IMM to MRT and we went separate ways after that. The train ride was over in minutes and the walk home was around ten minutes or so, but I finally managed to get all 5 bags back home safely. One side of the plastic handle for the tissue boxes had broke and I was kinda afraid that the other side would break as well. God blessed me and it didn’t. At this stage, my hands were purple, but on the bright side… I saved up on cab fare and did my exercise for the day. It’s a good reason to excuse myself from the 10 KG dumbbells for today.
With that said, I’m extremely hungry and tired at the moment. I was hungry at IMM already, but tolerated it to finish shopping with my wife… since she only had an hour before she had to head somewhere else. After her shopping spree, I also didn’t manage to get any food since I wanted to accompany her on the walk to Jurong East MRT. Now that I’m at home, I have to go to Westmall to source for food and it’s another ten minutes walk.
Haha, you might be wondering why did I still bothered to write this post instead of going to westmall for food immediately. There are a few reasons.
- I don’t like to sweat, so after the journey, I immediately turned on the Air-con to cool down.
- If I wrote this after coming back from Westmall, I will no longer be hungry and tired. I want to write posts when I’m feeling the exact emotions, not days later when I already forgot how I felt at that point of time.
- My wife reads this blog. The more pitiful I am because of her, the more she’ll love me. Years down the road, I can still show her that I suffered hunger for her.
Haha, I finally finished penning down my thoughts and I’m going Westmall for my dinner now. Until my next post…
