Post Examinations Reflections

Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ May 1st, 2007 - 2:11 am

My Examinations finished last Friday, but I was sick and delayed blogging until today. Anyway, for my examinations… I did so badly in my Statistics and Economics examinations that my friends did not even believe me when I told them honestly that I’m going to flunk my examinations real badly. Although I was sick when taking the examinations, I have never thought for a moment that being sick was the reason that I did so badly. In fact, I believe that my body came up with this secondary gain of having something to blame on when I do badly in the two Examinations. For someone new to this concept of Secondary gain, it basically means that our body tends to give us a pain if there is a resulting gain for the pain, like falling sick so that you don’t have to go to school.

I don’t really like to look back and reflect, since it’s obvious that I should have spent my time studying, instead of going out or watching drama series and anime. I have to admit that I do feel very sad after taking the examinations, but as the saying goes, you reap what you sow. After sitting for my last paper, my friends and I went to the Arcade and played some video games, followed by playing pool. Thereafter, we went to Swensens for a late lunch, which I vomited out after eating… thankfully in the toilet. It’s not because we ordered too much, but I was sick and have not much appetite. Moral of the story: Get a cheap meal when you are sick, so even if you puke it out, at least you waste the cheap food.

Looking forward, I will be spending even less time on studying from now on. Doing well in studies has never been my main focus, but rather something I chanced upon in my first semester of university. Regrettably, luck requires diligence to maintain, something which I’m not prepared to give in for my studies. While I do love to read up on my topics of interest, studying predefined textbooks is an entirely different issue and miles apart in terms of boredom level. I will be spending time to set goals tomorrow for what I wish to achieve in terms of Internet Marketing, my primary focus for the year.

I made my first dollar with Internet Marketing and the only thing I’m wondering is whether this will bring me my first million as well. I will also be spending some money on Internet Marketing to test some campaigns, which I did screw up pretty badly the previous time I tried. However, if not for Internet Marketing, my bank account might not even have existed till now and I have no issues spending money to speed up the learning process. I have also been spending quite a bit on ebooks and hardcopy books on Internet Marketing. I don’t wish to waste my youth away like I did previously when I stopped Internet Marketing activities twice before. I wondered what I could have achieved if I have consistently been involved in this area as a pioneer, instead of trying to enter the market now.

The competition is much tougher now, but the rewards of success are also much greater. Therefore, I will invest my time, energy and money on Internet Marketing and I hope the rewards will come. In my next post, I will talk about two particular Internet Marketers that I personally totally respect.
