Removed Google Adsense From This Blog

After some meddling around with my layout, I have removed Google Adsense, so this blog will consistently have a revenue of $0. Well… I initially added those Adsense advertisements there just to fill up space, but now that I found some other stuff to put, I have removed all Adsense from this blog. Anyway, since I don’t earn much from those Adsense, I might as well remove them. Last month, this blog’s adsense revenue was quite close to breaking even with the expenses of $4 a month, but it didn’t. Although I believe it would at least break even if I leave the adsense units in place, I decided to remove them to put the email feed subscription box.

If you didn’t already noticed, you can now subscribe to receive updates to this blog via email. Feedburner will automatically send updates right to your emails at predefined times. Just to assure some of those people who are very concerned with privacy issues, I will not use your email for other purposes. You may ask why do I want people to visit my blog and subscribe to my feeds when this blog has no ads and is going to make $0? The answer is simple: I want to build up a name on the web and blogging might be one of the channels that might get me there.

Oh yes, this post is by no means a pledge that I will never put advertisements on this blog. Whenever I feel that this blog needs space-fillers, I might just plug an advertisement or two. The other scenario is if this blog gets so big that I can make a decent income from just plugging in a few advertisements. Of course, anything else is also possible and I don’t promise to keep my blog a certain way. Humans change with time and I’m human, so I’m expected to change and my blog is expected to change with me.

The only thing I can assure is that this blog will house my honest opinions at any given point in time. Even if I will need to contradict my previous posts, I will still post whatever I think as of the moment I’m blogging. Therefore, if you ever find me contradicting, that’s because my thoughts have changed with time. One of the purposes for this blog is to track my progress, so years later, I can look back and say “I didn’t know I used to think this way” For the frequent visitors to this blog, I believe you will see very distinctly how I change with time as well.
