Still some time to exams

Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ November 11th, 2006 - 4:57 pm

Time passes by damn slowly today, the pain of waiting for each second to pass is simply undescribable. I wanted to take a nap, but I just resolved not to, so I didn’t dare to doze off. All I did was prone on my bed, waiting for something good to happen, aimlessly wasting away my time. It’s regrettable that almost all my peers are in an exam mugging mode, yet I still think there’s plenty of time, perhaps it’s in my slacker blood. So far, the amount of time I have clocked in studying for my examinations is pathetic… it was only the thursday that I studied with a few of my tutorial mates. Even then… I only studied an hour or so, equilvalent to 3  puny chapters of Financial Management.

Yesterday, I planned to study with my brother in campus, yet when I reached NIE library, there’s no internet access and I didn’t have much materials with me. End result: didn’t get down to studying. Instead, I listened to an audio seminar with the time in the library and maybe it was still time well spent. Fortunately, I have my MP3 player with me. It’s because of my MP3 player that I have so much free time at home, since I seldom listen to audio seminars at home now. Wait till my exams are over, my daily routine should undergo a large transformation then. I always tend to be the laziest during exam period, how ironic…

After a few hours of staring into blank space, my mind started to constantly produce thoughts that I shouldn’t be thinking about. I think I need to occupy myself with sports like roller-blading, bouldering or basketball, but where can I find activity partners? My wife was my closest activity partner until she started working with Prudential, it’s sucking away all her time. Now… the only way for me to get my wife back from the evil clutches of working society is for me to make tons of money. It will probably take a year before I can see a significant check coming in, since I’m only planning to work on my sites during the holidays. Regardless, I’ll still move closer towards my goal even if I only have 4 months each year.

Anyway, I can’t concentrate much, because I don’t have enough sleep. I’m a person who is damn used to taking naps and sleeping a lot, so changing this suddenly is probably going to affect me somewhat. As of now, I’m feeling lethargic and constantly yawning, but I believe this is temporary and I just have to wait till my body gets used to it. I’m tolerating short term pain for long term benefits. I will persevere on.
