Switching to Shorter Posts

Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ June 14th, 2010 - 10:48 pm

It has been some time since I blogged, probably because I did not have something that I feel would warrant an entire blog post. I used to choose to blog only longer articles and when I did not have enough to write, I simply choose not to write totally. Seeing the lack of posts, I decided to just shoot my mind in future.

Anyway, it is not that my life has nothing going on recently, but rather most of the times it has to do with work. When it comes to my work, I don’t really wish to blog about it just in case there is anything sensitive. Other than work, it’s only fun, which I guess most of the visitors to this blog probably might not be interested to know. Who cares about the hundreds of manga series that I read, my latest conquest of plants vs zombies or about my night out with friends?

Recently, I have also been reading the bible, since I cannot make up my mind on whether I believe in the Christian God. So far, I’m leaning more towards remaining free of religion, because I am not really convinced. Regardless, I’m still keeping an open mind and reading the bible. I wonder how long it will take me to finish the whole book…

    Dear Hang Wei,
I encourage you to perservere to finish reading the whole bible. As you said, discipline is very important. I pray that you can have this discipline to finish with reading the bible. It is a really most precious book on earth to read and I pray that you may consider carefully the Gospel message of salvation inside the bible which talks about the sacrifice of Jesus, God’s only son on the cross for our sins that those who believe can be saved by God through Jesus and thereafter to depend on God to live a godly life that is pleasing to Him. I am a Christian and hope that you can receive this wonderful gift of salvation from God through His son Jesus too! God bless! :-)

Yes, I’m reading it through my mobile phone while traveling on the train. However, the more I read the bible, the less likely it seems for me to be a Christian again.

    Hang Wei,
It’s good to hear that you are still listening to God’s Word which is the bible. Don’t worry. Allow God to continue to speak to you. I will continue to pray for your salvation as well. Cheers. God bless! :-)

Yo man! just bumped to this blog.. the bible? err.. i don’t think it can convice a person to become a christian by simply reading one.. you got to get someone to explain what you read!

I fell asleep countless times reading that book man.. I bet you have yet to get through reading it past 30mins if there were no noise or distractions from passer-by during your train ride..

Get a grip and get real man.. a book won’t help you.. you need more than just ‘a-book’!

    :) my 2 cents!

I have already read two books in the bible, give me another year and I should finish the entire book. I don’t really believe in hearing from others anymore, because they always pick selected verses to prove their point only. I prefer to read everything in detail and when I don’t understand, I google.

    Dear Hang Wei,
Yes. Do press on and continue with the rest of the bible (God’s Word). God can speak to us through His Word (the bible) and impress upon our hearts what He wants us to hear from His Word. Do not underestimate what God can do in our lives.

I used to find reading the bible boring before I became a christian. But now as a christian, I enjoy reading God’s Word daily as I get to know His character better with each reading and His plan to save humanity (by the sacrifice of His Son Jesus on the cross to atone for our sins done against Him) since time began to time end in future.

His Word (the bible) also warns man on how to lead their lives in order to please our Holy God giving Him glory as every man needs to give an account of how he has lived when the Day of Judgement comes in future (which no one knows when except God Himself).

Only those who have sincerely accepted God’s saving grace through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus can enter in eternal relationship with God after heaven and earth have passed on in future.

    Jeremy, :-)
