Tracking Successful Internet Marketers
Blogged By: Low Hang Wei @ June 15th, 2007 - 9:44 pmI ended my Hong Kong trip two days and a half days early, so I’m now back with a new hobby. Ever typed the names of people into Google just to see what results would come out? Well, I’m punching names like Ewen Chia, Corey Rudl and Mark Joyner just to see what gems I can find. There’s a great reason why I do this, since I heard from one of the speakers in World Internet Summit that Success leaves traces. Since that’s the case, it makes perfect sense to track these traces and model what these Internet Marketers do to become successful… at least that’s what I think. Come to think of it, three years back… I did almost the same thing, finding out where my competitors were getting their links and then getting my website listed on the same sites.
I’m now particularly interested in exactly what Successful Internet Marketers do to get to where they are. Hearing about their strategies and following their steps is good, but I would say it’s way more effective to look at their actual websites and promotion methods. I’m not advocating that all of us simply copy and paste their materials, but rather use them as a reference. For example, if you see that they achieve phenomenal success with headlines like 7 Tips To Internet Marketing Success, maybe we can use headlines like 7 Tips To Lose Your Fat. This is just something I made up on the spot, so it may not sell, but I’m sure the point is communicated nevertheless.
Modelling successful people has led to many other successes and I would think that it’s becoming incredibly easy to track successes and model them with the Internet. Why not try it for yourself? It takes just a few minutes to Google and find out what the sites of successful internet marketers look like. You may find something very valuable that can help increase your conversion rates or help you drive more traffic. Dig these successes up, subscribe to their newsletter and use them as the blueprint for your own strategy. Of course, it may not work for everyone, but at least there’s something for us to work on.
Just keep trying and one day we will find the right formula that suits us.
